depends on the length of the video its self. So far ive only done little conversions with AVS Video Converter www.avsmedia.com
It all depends on the video size, length, & amout of compression your going to encode the video. Also, your system plays a part on the speed of your encoding. If you have enough CPU speed & RAM, then you shouldn't have a problem. Goodluck.

this kid i know has 40+ albums and like 25 movies on his iPOD Video lol i dont think it takes that long
It depends on the size of the file, how powerful your system is, and what format you are converting it into. I don't remember the name of the program I used, but there were a few different formats that you could use for iPod.
i got a black 30 gig ipod vid...i use some other program and it takes like 2-3 hours to convert 14 episodes of family
