    Director- Steven Spielberg
    Year Made- 1998
    Genre- War/Action/Drama
    Rating- R
    My Score- 10/10

    Cast:
    Tom hanks
    Tom Sizemore
    Vin Diesel
    Mat Damon

Definetly one of the greatest war stories and movies of all time. It old, around 7 years, but is such a great movie it was re-released even after its debue.

The cast features a bunch of now famous people, such as Vin Diesel(XXX,The Fast and Furious) and Mat Damon.

The story takes place during WW2 and starts with Operation Overlord, Also known as Dday. The opening scene is US hitting the beaches of Omaha. The camera scans aross the mens faces, and right then you get a sense of what war was like, when you see the young mens faces.

I found myself teary eyed just after this first opening act. The drama and reality of war set into my mind.

7 men, including Cpt Miller(tom Hanks), go on to find Prv. Ryan and get him the hell out of there:-)D). Prv Ryans 3 brothers all died in combat, and Ryan was the only one left.

On this journey the 7 men, become brothers. There friendship grows and they become family. Between Dday and the end battle at Normandy, many little battles take place.

The action is itense and dramatic. The camera has a unique way of filming and I enjoyed it, it really captured the reality of what war might have been like.

Another thing I liked is how there was no music during the battle scenes. Speilsburg said that in war, there is no music, so he wanted to really capture what war was like. All you hear are bullets wizzing by, bombs exlpoding, and men crying.

The movie also had its color saturation reduced 60% for artisic reasons. But tv broddcasters turned it up due to complains from its first week of showing.

Im not going to lie, the movie made me cry at the end. Its a MUST BUY, I watched this so many times.

    10/10
