As if I haven't had enough problems.
Ok, so I have my rig all hooked up, I got some great help from master on how to get windows. So I go to install windows on my 74gb raptor right? And what happens? It's not formatted. So I have to install the os on my other harddrive, then format the raptor in windows, uninstall windows and then install it on the raptor.
So, then I hook up my ehternet card right? And I"m hopeing to get on the internet, but what happens? Page not found? So about now I'm ready to chuck my rig out the window.
So I get my connection figured out, and get up to about a 100mbps connection.
I installed firefox.... BUT THEN WHAT?!?!?!?! CAN YOU FRICKING GUESS?
Now when I go to scroll down I get little flashes on the screen, like a line that goes from the bottom to the top like it's loading when I scroll? Someone please tell me how to fix this. I'm in dire need.

    Setup
    19in flatty
    7800gt
windows xp pro stripped compliments of master

hmm sounds like a graphics display problem. I would suggest either your monitor is shot or your video adapater isn't working properly. try changing the cables hooking the monitor to the video card. may i ask how old your monitor is. also, next time when u want to formatt ur harddrive. just pop in the xp cd and choose boot from cd option. it has a auto format option so u dont gotta go into windows and set anything up first. it will ask if u want a express format (which i dont recomment) or a full format, and it erases everything then installs a clean windows xp. anyways yeah how old is your moniutor.

    quoted for the corectitude.
you should install drivers for ever peice of hardware you have.

also, you might consider adjusting Fx to use smooth scrolling.

I love you guys. I installed the new drivers, and rebooted and now everything works perfectly....

Hey one more question. When I start up, it takes me to the screen that says press f1 to continue, is there anyway to get it to just automaticlly start up. I'm assuming it's something in the bios.

indeed it would be in bios. assuming you have a typical motherboard just press he del button, then just set it so it's auto optimized if there is an option. That would turn on the quick boot function most likely.

just press the del button when your computer starts up.

then look for a thigng which says somethign like performance defualt and use the arrow keys to go to it, then press enter.

that should do it, if not just look around in BIOS a bit.

think of it like this. he didn't have his component installed. it's not a hardware problem and it took 10 seconds to fix, plus it sounds like he built his computer, in which case, you are your own tech support/waranty in many cases. If you get a premade computer at retail and it's F'ed up inially it's because it has bad hardware components, not because of software. If you read, he reinstalled windows completely so everything was wiped out.

    -Download new drivers,
-Check if there's any ---- in the pci hole.
-Check if your cables are connected right.

If it doesn't help, get a new card. (Just bring your old back to the store, you prolly have like a year guarantee on it.) That's all I can think of it.

    Topoic resolved.
The problem was that the drivers on the cd were not up to date, so I had to download the new ones. Now everything works fine.
