http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822144102 (80gb hdd) or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822140118 (40gb hdd) 6 dollar difference... just get it, it is a better alternative than anything.
Yes it is then basically when u have problems again it works out long term You dont have to make backups coz u will be saving into a different HD rather than into the Main OS one
go to run type in msnconfig then go to start up then untick the dl.exe that will stop it from laoding so it will stop the l;oop so you can delete it.
yes it loads when windows starts up, but it is in the registry, and in the system files. if you could just stop it in msconfig, it would just create another instance of it. i have seen this type of behavior before.
Can you do anything? Like hook up some product that has uses USP Port? If so.. just get an ipod. You won't lose music and you'll be able to have all your files
you know where the file is located corret? if so use this little work aroud to kill the F'er: download or otherwise get replacer.exe onto the computer with the file you wish to replace, then open it. http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/ then make a file with the same name, just make a dummy text file and save it as "dl.exe" in quotes then follow the instructions to make your swap.
ahh ok, some one recently on these forums posted a program that can archive 200 mb into like 1.5mb? that would mean your '30 GB of music' could be archived down to like ~~230.4 MB. It would take a long ass while to archive 30 GB, but just leave it running at night or during school. 230 MB would easly fit onto a normal CD. But before putting that music back onto your newly updated computer, i would advice running some virus checks, just to be safe? Ahh, here is the link-- http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=193055 even better.... 500mb into 1.5mb... here is the new result for what 30GB should be down to. Grand Total ----> 92.16 MB <---- Ding Ding Ding
johndapunk, i wouldnt risk that... he can only get through to safe mode. plus, the virus does not let him do a virus check, so how could he?
I would suggest to do the replacer trick. It should remove it. If it dosen't try and get a free AVG on floppy and try it that way.
i mean he should get the ---- on a disk, then after he re-installs windows and stuff, and puts the files onto his newly reformatted computer, then he runs the check. chances are there wont be any files on a music file...but chances are still there.
Hello guys. The viruses and the attempt to eliminate the viruses have left my computer useless. There are no more programs. The success rate for logging in normally is random. Some times I can, some times I can't. No more error windows, though. Just no programs. I cannot get my computer to boot via the only Windows XP disc I have. It's from DELL. It's labeled Operating System, Already Installed on your Computer, Reinstallation CD, Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. I tried the F2 Setup menu but it never boots with this disk. So I cannot do the Repair Install. I am trying boot floppy disks. I can run a reinstallation from actually opening the disc from Windows. If I have a folder in the C drive (hardrive) and reinstall Windows, will it delete that folder? That folder has all my music, isos, psds, school documents, pictures, etc. Not programs, though. I've put everything in one folder in the C: drive.
Up to you mate - Ideally you should get another HD but if you wana reformat - Thats your choice Risky business Everything goes - Even though it solves the problem - Unrecoverable Bear in mind gd luk
