    Hey all,
I don't know very much about pc's but I'm reading much reviews and trying to gain more expierence. This is my problem. I was with my pc on a lan party, my friend told me my pc is getting way to hot. So I bought some new things:
    2x 120mm fan
    2x 80mm fan
1x Zalman CNPS 7700 ALCU processor cooler.

Now my overall temp is 32C, it was around 40. (CPU is ~30 idle, and ~45 stressed)
But my 2 HDD's are still getting to hot, ~50 idle and ~60 stessed, my other friends HDDs are around ~35 idle and 40 stessed.

How is it possible that my 2 hdds are getting so hot and others not?
    Both are 160gig IDE.

The overall temperatures are decreased ~8C, because of the fans.

Hmm, that was a time ago, I'll defrag them soon then. And yes I wanted to buy the zalman cooler for my hdd to but it's kinda expensive. I think I'll go for the cooldrive 4 b'cause I also need a fancontroller.

How much did your raptor cost? Those HDD's are great, but very expensive. 150gig = €350,- here...

Okay, viruscan didn't help, defragment didn't help, so I tried formatting and guess it:
    CPU: 25C
    HDD0: 37C
    HDD1: 35C
    HDD3: 36

    :D

That seems like a short term answer as your hdd's will probably start to heat up in the future. You should make plans to get hd coolers. I screwed one to the bottom of my hd and have no worries about heat. jmo

not really, just means he had a few bad data clusters, he fixed his issue, though cooling is still good.

here are ways to help you keep cool:

space the drives as far apart as practical for increased airflow

place them near case fans if possible, my two HDDs are near two case fans and I quite literally feal cold air coming out from them.

There is 1cm space bitween them, and prolly yes the'll heat up more on the furture, I've already bought one hdd cooler, but I don't have any space left in my case... and my power supply is crap.
