I just stumbled upon a program that can compress 500mb down to 1.5mb.

Imagine that! Well its possible with a program called KGB Archiver. I cant give you an example because I found out with an office beta. The only downside is it takes hours to compress and hours to decompress. But its good for sending large files and for uses who have dialup.

    Heres the app. http://www.icpnet.pl/~tomekpawlak/kgb/download2.php?file=0

I can send you a file to test. its office beta. I will not post a link here to it though. It takes 6 hours to decompress it and I have a dual core. So its not convenient when you have fast internet, might aswell download it quicker or you have a slow old pc.

Going to have to test it for myself, cause I don't believe it, then need to find the algorithm it uses to compress.....

Going to run it when I goto sleep tonight, or when I go off to the night club, if it can compress a 700mb avi into less then 50mb I will still be very impressed...

I'll pass.. I can dl the same file size in alot less of the time.
This is probably only useful to 56kers that want to decompress a file while they sleep overnight..

I prefer rar compression in the mean time. But hey, I don't transfer files over 60MB anyways..
