system restore is what he meant but most likely that won't get rid of the virus and if you know the name of the virus it's simple to go to symantec.com and get the fix for it

    if so try this:
Click the Start button and right click on my computer and then click properties.
    Click The Advanced tab
Click the settings button in the startup and recovery box
    UNcheck the automatically restart box
    click ok

Try it now, I hope i helped :)

wow, whats with everyone always saying "format". Formating is should be the last resort or just giving up on finding a solution to the problem.

TO see if its a virus, boot into safe mode then do a virus scan.

    To get into safe mode:

    1) Repeatedly tab F8 while your computer is booting up until a menu apears. Use your arrow keys and the enter button to select safe mode

    2) Start > Run > Msconfig

    Go to BOOT.INI tab

Make sure /Safeboot is checked. Restart your computer. When you want to stop using safe mode, simply go back to the BOOT.INI tab and uncheck /Safeboot

If it still restarts, I'm bettings your overheating or something
