ok, I want one of the following: 1. A Small Form Factor PC. Not from Shuttle, please. I had bad experiences with them. AMD 64 1gb ram 200+gb hdd (sata?) DVD+-R/W DL PCI-E Graphics 2. A laptop, always wanted one. AMD (with 64 or not, doesnt matter) 512mb or 1gb ram at least 80gb hdd graphics doesnt matter too much, as I will only be surfing and doing CS2 and Dreamweaver work. DVD rom or burner lock the cheapest price from the place you trust most, newegg is preferred, as I live in the US..
you might want a celeron M in your lap, those are pretty good same goes for the PM. Also turion> Athlon for laps. best deal I have seen so far is this: HP lap 1gig ram x200 Int gfax athlon 3500+ 800$ my friend has oen and I have seen it advertised on sale before.
very true, im using shuttle right now (brothers), of course i hate for when i have to search around inside, i prefer full-size towers, but nvm. Pentium M is ftw (laptops), my dad has a 2.13Ghz (very sexy gateway), runs fast, all good.
meh, I bought a mobo from them a few years back, and it fried, have no idea how... So I calleed shuttle. they told me I had to contact my distributoer where i got it, which happened to be TigerDirect. So I contacted TD, they said I had to contact Shuttle. I fought back and forth until the waranty ran out... edit: Xelink, a link would help...
luckily, there are beeter boards out there, like gigabit, asus, and others. edit: actually, I would rather not buy from TD anymore... I bought a barebone from them a month ago for my friend who needed an updated pc, and the mobo acted weird, it would shut itself off in like a minute of it being on. then it would show the bios splash, and turn the monitor off... took it to a shop to do diagnostics on it, to see if it is the board or the cpu... Newegg is better for pc parts anyhow... thank god i dont live in canada...
just googled a bit, but couldn't find it. my friend said he got it from comp USA and I saw the add in there. just check the newspapers religiously for a week or two.
both of the Shuttles in my house run fine. I think you just got a bum board. And you should have just sent it in to Shuttle for warrantee work. The distributer doesnt have any say in the warantee unless you bought their personal plan.
meh, i couldnt even get the warranty ---- from em... anyway, stpl91 helped me with a pc, can someone find me a laptop of my specs or similar? my budget is ~800 usd..
Yes I can http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16834115220 My cousin has an acer as well, works really nicely
yea, i was looking at acers for awhile.. can you find the type of memory I need to boot it up to 1gb ram?
Assuming theres another memory slot on that, I think this will work http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820220122 I'm not ABSOLUTLY sure though, although almost. I was gonna ask their support people for some additional info on the acer to see, but their support isnt available right now :/
