This tutorial is 100% defaults only there are no C4D renders, patterns, downloaded brushes or anything like that involved. It does include smudging but no scattered smudging, so it should also work with version of Photoshop lower than CS2. You will not only learn how to make that background, but it also includes some techniques to touch sigs up; including gradient maps and filters.
I'd say this tut is mainly aimed at Intermediate - Advanced users, but less experienced people can use it too 'cause it's so detailed; it has 26 images and 11 steps! I will not give this tut out for free as I did with the first one.
