i reasontly found out my current visiontek X550 gfx card was broken lol so i went to comp usa, got my 150 back and bought a brand new X800Xl for 200. i see on newegg this card is originally 300 so i made out like a king. i had to choose from this http://www.compusa.com/products/product_in...5820&pfp=BROWSE
    and this http://www.compusa.com/products/product_in...318335&pfp=cat3
and i got the X800. the problem is on the side of the case it said it didnt need any power supply but i try to install it and it says it does, i go back to compusa and they say their out of stock lol so tommorrow i have to go to best buy...... tell me what u guys think about the X800XL.

omg lol...... it needs power from the power supply bot just regular power. i actually have to plug in an adaptor to the gfx card itself or else it wont work. i think im gonna go back tomorrow and get the 6800 GS. which is better? their both for 200 and the clock speeds are just about the same give or take like 20 ghz.

    The other one was better...

Just set them all maxed out the settings...its kinda common sence..and set anti-aliasing to 6x (or as high as it goes i forget)...and resolution wize, just do it as ur normal res for ur monitor i guess, minimum is 1024x768 that you should..

u meen the X800XL was better? on 3dmark05 the 6800GS scores around 5000 and on mine it scored 5500 with a crappy processor, i mean the cpu test was running at 1/2 fps ffs. the X800XL get on average around 2000.

edit: the refresh rate is at 60 hertz an their is an option for 75 hertz is that better or worse?

Umm..yea i dont know much about that but go for 75.

Nd I believe the 6800GS only got 12 pipelines compared to the x800XL's 16. I dont know about the speeds tho.

And dont worry about it too much, cuz either one is pretty good anyway.

    oh you mean that.
I thought you meant in BF2...

Well I dont think that matters much honestly, you use your own eyes to tell, i'd say just put it on Application controlled though.
