K, so a friend is gonna help me get the components for a comp, so I'm gonna build an Intel system in the next few months. Pretty much all I'll be doing on my computer is Photoshop and 3D programs, so keep that mind. Review it, and give some advice or opinions.

    Intel Xeon EM64T 3.6 800MHz FSB Socket 604 EM64T Processor - Retail

Ok, the reason behind the Intel system over AMD is that I don't play games on my computer, and I don't plan on doing so. Intel has Hyperthreading, which will help me with my obsessive multitasking. ^.^

ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Good mobo judging on the ratings. If anyone has suggestions for a better one, post them, since I know the least about motherboards.

    Crucial Ballistix 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel kit System Memory - Retail

A gig of high speed RAM. Will that be enough, or maybe over the top?

Western Digital Raptor 150GB 3.5" Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM

    Sexy hard drive.

eVGA Geforce 7800GTX 256-P2-N529-AX Video Card - Retail

Don't know much about vid cards either, so if there's one that caters more to GFX apps, please direct me to it.

PLEXTOR Black IDE DVD Burner Model PX-740A-BP-BL - OEM

    Eh, it's whatever here.

SONY Black Internal Floppy Drive Model MPF920 Black - OEM

    =P

Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 550W Power Supply - Retail

Looks like on of the best PSUs on the market.

Lian Li PC-60APlus Silver Computer Case - Retail

Seeeeexy case. From what I've read, one fan sucks the hot air directly off the CPU, while two others blow cool air onto it. It looks great, and it has a sliding mobo tray. If anyone bashes this case, I'll kick them. XP

There ya go. Advice on this system and what I need to buy based on what I'll use it for will be cool. Assume money isn't an issue (even though it is xD).

Oh, forgot to mention... I don't really want to go dual core unless I have to. Too many cooling worries, and I wouldn't know the first thing to buy for it. :P

    Processor:
I got a dual core and cooling is fine.....

and I still stand as AMD > Intel, but idk if u really want to spend that 700 dollars on the intel..fine i guess..

    Mobo:
Seems good but dont know much bout it,

    Ram:
That ram doesnt seem very good...I'd go for another..and how about 2gb's this time if ya got the cash? ok..

    HD:
You probly should get one more HD, any cheap one, just for extra space...

    Graphics card:
Cant argue with that card, its a great card.

    Drives:
    Dvd drive is good
    Floppy drive, well, barely matters..

    Good PSU

    Case:
Black dvd and floppy drive, on a white/beige case..ehh..color wize not smart..

Yeah, I'll keep lookin around at processors. What kind of cooling do you have for your dual core though? I don't know much about this kind of thing yet, but I though cooling was a pretty major issue with dual cores. Will an AMD comparable to that Intel multitask as well?

Eh, I read a review on tomshardware.com, and they liked that Ballistix RAM. I'd go Corsair, but I remember someone telling me they've had problems with it.

Good idea about the extra HD...

And yah, I changed the case from a black one, and didn't even think about the black DVD and Floppy drives. I'll fix that. =P

    Thanks for the comments.
