Very true, without that part there really would not be a christian faith, thank you for reminding me about that oh and i would like to apologize for any harsh comments i made, i just get riled up by people who are closed minded about their religious beliefs.
hmmm i just felt like commenting on evolution... Evolution is definetly real. to say we evolved from monkeys or apes might not be true but it has been proven that animals evolve to survive in their surroundings.
I 100% agree with you apex. I think if we rid the world of religion, then the earth will be a better more peaceful place to live. But i think religion is just something that is drilled into your head. When you are a kid, you ae told god is real and you don't question it. Then you just live your life by what you were told. Which all adults tell you not to do also
You can't deny evolution. It has been Proven. Well, the closest thing to proven. In reality, nothing can be proven. But look at bacteria. Viruses. They evolve rapidly. The flu Virus can mutate in months to create an entire new virus in order to survive. I don't want to re-post alot of virtuoso's posts, because I beleive in what he is saying, aside from a few things. About all of the largest wars the world has seen have been caused by, or accelerated by religion. (WWII, the Crusades, etc)
I think of this all the time. It seems that religion, just as beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. You need to know in your heart, in your soul, that which ever religion you follow is the truth, while still accepting other religions as well...
You have to admit though, that there are several holes in Darwin's theory. I am a proponent of evolution, and I believe intelligent design is complete garbage, but evolution is not a flawless theory. The biggest problem with evolution is lack of intermediary species. Why is it that chimpanzees, our closest relatives (genes are 97% similar) are still alive, while Neanderthals, Cro-Magnons, and all the other pre-humans are extinct? It makes no sense. As for the religion piece, here's my take. I believe that there is a God, who serves to show you certain paths, help you when/if you absolutely require it, and ultimately judge your actions when you die. God does not, however, punish you for your sins or in any way directly intervene in your affairs while you are alive.
Religion has been present since people were nomads. They buried people, sometimes with riches like the Egyptians did.
Because we evolved from cro-magnons and neanderthals. Chimpanzees are our relatives, but we did not evolve from them. And you say the evolution theory is not complete. That is what a theory is. It is a widely accepted explanation, but by no means is it 100% positive.
How do we know if Christianity is real? How do we know if scientology is the way to go? How about Buddism? Taoism? other ism's...... we dont know. We wont untill some god decides to show himself... Ask yourself.. Are we one of god's blunders? Or is god one of ours? Probly my favorite quote... "Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." -Thomas Jefferson p.s. There is no theory of evolution, only a list of things Chuck Norris allows to live... I'm sorry, i had to say it xD
So since we evolved from them, they no longer exist? That makes no sense...nowhere in Darwin's theory of evolution does it state that evolution of a species results in the extinction of the previous species.
but it does prove true in most cases... alligators for instance were origionally large water dinosaurs (forgot the name of em). We evolved from neanderthals. no, it isnt proven true in any case, but it is evident through more than one species.
ah, but that is where you are wrong. natural selection my friend. Again, another theory of darwin. It states that the ones best suited for their environment survive. That is how the neandrothols died out, and the cro-magnons succeded them.
if i believed in god and an afterlife (i dont) i would believe that all religions are correct, except for some of those near cult crazy made up modern religions, like heaven and god is the top of the mountain and all religions are different paths to the top.
I personally dont beleive in an afterlife, not yet. Neither do I beleive in a lot of the bible, becuase there are things that conflict with logical modern science. For example. Jesus turned plain water into wine supposedly. That right there goes against the law that "matter cannot be created, matter cannot be destroyed." My personal opinion is that religion is the outdated science. Religion was put into place to explain what back then was unexplainable. I'm basically with virtuosa all the way, although some others did make valid points.
