This website is an infringement on so many copyrights that it's unbelievable.

I would firstly like to point out that your definition of a render is so inaccurate! A render is not simply "cutting out" an object from a background like 52,000+ people seem to believe. A rendering is the final step of an image transformation or three-dimensional scene through which a new image is refreshed on the screen, a computer graphics process that removes hidden surfaces and jagged edges from computer-generated 3-D models by adding shades, texture, depth and other realistic attributes.

So it seems that your website is wrong from the title..nevermind everything else!

Another point, you realise that you need to gain permission from the companies who made these renders (and I mean the actual figures, not your cut-outs) before editing them and re-distributing them in the first place, otherwise you are infringing all copyrights that company holds on the image.

Take note of this article http://realitysquared.deviantart.com/journal/7841555/

Now, I am just warning you for now, but please get yourselves sorted out <_<

We've had this discussed many times before (even with dA artists) and we do have permission to cut out videogame characters. The reason why these cutouts are called 'renders' are two things; one was that it was a slang term and another was that long ago there was a program that would 'render out' the images.
As for cutting out personal artwork (like from deviantART or other sites), we have members GAIN persmission first from the original artists to avoid disputes.

Fair enough, although it is true that you have a request board, surely permission can't be given for all of those images to be "rendered"?

Do you have proof of permission? Does this permission apply to every single member here? Does it allow them to distribute these images?

How about the photos that I have seen people request to be cut out? I've seen people who say they found them on google, people who have actually left the copyright on there!

Hello deviousfemale, can you please answer some of these questions regarding the game images that are displayed on this site?:

    1. Do you think that game companies would really be that interested in chasing down every website on the internet that includes gaming images without their permission?

    2. Do you think that they have the money and the time to set up hundreds of thousands of lawsuits aimed at the internet gaming community?

    3. What would they stand to get out of doing so, e.g what competitive gains would they receive from talking legal action?

    4. Would they really consider risking their reputation by taking legal action against thousands of gamers, who won't exactly have much money in the first place?

    5. Why would they mind increasing the amount of exposure their games are getting by characters and imagery from their games being distributed?

    6. Even if a game company decided to require permission to be given before gaming images are used, do you think it would be profitable to hire hundreds of extra staff to handle the 1000's of requests that this would produce? Of course, you'd also need hundreds of extra staff in addition to sort out people that do not get permission before they decide to display the game company's images.

as BlackFuse said, all images from places like Deviantart are only alloud to be cut out if we have gained permission, ive done it a few times. and 95% of Gamerenders "Renders" come from Wallpapers, places like gamewallpapers.com or e-wallpapers distribute their wallpapers for the soul purpose of public use, that includes editing them dosnt it? and its not like these are actually sold for real money, i dont think Gr has violated anything :|
