I have a microsoft mouse and keyboard, they're both wireless, and I do have the Installation disk, would that run on a Macintosh computer?? Or should the disk say on it ' Compatible with Windows 98, etc.. ' ?? And would a Macintosh Keyboard ( The latest ones ) work on a Dell Computer with a Windows XP Operating System..? ^ Those are stupid questions.. And now with the AIM.. Is there a way to make Aol Instant Messenger stop popping up every time you log into windows.. Yes I want to keep it, but I don't want it keep popping up whenever I turn on the Computer, Same with Yahoo Instant Messenger.. Is there anyway to do that..?
go to start>run> type "msconfig" goto start up and select the AIM stuff and decheck it. hit apply and restart the comp. When you start up again it will pop up a window just check the dont show me this again box and hit ok. as far as the other stuff mice and keyboards will work on macs but you will loose some functionality like if they have multimedia buttons etc. As far as the wireless goes unless you can find a mac compatable driver then I dont think it will work.
Thanks.. I got to get my dad's pass, I hate how I need to be Computer Aministrator to do everything, I can't even run ' msconfig ' ..
yeah, wireless window stuff wont work on macs. do you think Windows will programm their stuff to run with Mac? their bigest competitor?
The wireless thing is a USB that sends a signal to the mouse and keyboard.. It's not completely wireless <_< .
Thats not the best way of doing it. Go to your AIM and Yahoo preferences/options, and find in there somewhere "Run on windows start" or something alike to that. Make sure its unchecked/unselected. Msconfig should be used only after trying that and not having it work. ANd admin access isnt neccessary for the above solutuin either.
