This is a screen shot I took of it runnin half the RAM on the computer. I think it runs way too much and it is just idleing.. EDIT... wow... it didn't upload.. give me some more time and I will send it... hahaha
spectre, I have noticed one thing and one thing only: you continualy talk about things which you know little of. It said it didn't have support for older DVD drives which rely on early software, not DVDs. Lack of hardware support is typical to all new OS releases, and the lack of the ability to use an old DVD drive from '95 is hardly an issue to me.
I agree I am in no rush to switch from XP, I will wait at least a year or so before switching. I can imagine the first couple of months is going to constant patches and updates.
Q: "Where do you DL it?" A: I got the DVD copy from MSDN from my school professor. Here is that screen shot of the Vista beast EATING the RAM idle. Sorry I didn't get this posted earlier. I ran into some problems. http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/4500/vistaram8hm.jpg
I will never get Vista because: A: I can get the same GUI using themes on XP B: It uses way too much RAM I'm getting a Mac soon, so that's another reason! :
they just need to patch all those holes. seriously, after they are done, they should try to make viruses and worms agasitn the os for beta testing and stuff. imma need to ge ta new comp to run vista -.-
