I was messing around with my Longhorn of Windows Vista. I like it a lot. They have changed some things from XP to Vista and so far they are doing good in my oppinion. I was just wondering what you think they should do/not do, add/take away in this version of windows compaired to the past.

This is not my screen shot but I am on my other partition at the moment. Here is a screen shot for whom who havn't seen the new OS from Windows:

It will be good apart from the following -

    - GUI using a ---- load of ram
    - DRM
    - IE7

I am going to download the latest beta. However I will refuse to use it as my main OS until DRM has been cracked and SP1 has been released.

True, the GUI will take a lot of ram

    But it looks pretty good

I have tested the BETA and it's better then XP imo

Vista has a nice GUI.... But unfortunately, according to an MSDN blog post it wont support DVDs now because of hardware issues...

So, is there any real reason to upgrade to this if it uses a ----load of RAM which could be used in games/photoshop on WinXP?

    Any good reason to upgrade?

I have a feeling MS is being sort of lazy about this... <_<

yeh well I think all the PC owners here including myself have upgraded drives since 1 January 2000 so it would not be a problem

    Merged Post:

also most businesses will not be purchasing a copy of microsoft vista because of the cost involved

It will support DVD's more and more. You should see the quote from an executive or something. I can't find it anymore but one of Microsoft's guys said something like this to Bill: "Screw Microsoft Windows, I can make 100 USD laptops and it's all because I don't have to use the Windows OS. I can use linux and it is free. I didn't choose linux to sell in these laptops because it is free, I chose it because it is better!"

I laughed my ass off when I read it... HAHAHAHA OWNED

    I think Bill started crying.

Yeah, it is true. For every program you run with a Windows machine you can run like 10 on a Mac. HAHA
