Ok i use the GIMP to make all graphic images and in my oppinion it's the best free(not spyware/adware/malicious) program for it.

i use terragen for rendering landscapes for use in my graphics.

i have also ordered a WACOM tablet and Corel painter

am i using good programs or are there better ones out there that isnt photoshop?

Well, apart from the ones you mentioned and Photoshp...there's Adobe Illustrator, Paintshop Pro, Corel Draw, 3dsmax, Maya, Cinema 3D...um, yeah.

But if you are looking to buy one, I would DEFINATELY go with Photoshop. I can do everything you can imagine (cept 3d stuff...) and then some.

Photoshop is the best there is, period.

If you don't (want to) use it you're basically shooting yourself in the foot. Maybe not for small things, but when you do any serious design work it's just uncomparably better. GIMP is, literally, gimp compared to photoshop.

Disney actually went through the trouble of converting photoshop to mac.
