build ur own for less and u it can ber better then both of those but cheaper. www.newegg.com good prices for the builder
well...IMO gateways suck, i have 3 gateways, 1 still works (it's 10-11 years old), one's screwed, and one's fried 3 hard drives and a power supply. i would go with the HP, but that's just because i've had bad experiences with gateways.
Cheapest way is to creat your own. But you need to know what works well with wat. Other wise just choose a good company. I use Dell.
That's the problem I have no clue what fits with what... so I looked at our store nearby and lowered it to the above 2 choices...
You should check out Costco, they have the best return policy. I had a laptop for over a year I was still able to exchange it for the same value I bought it for and upgraded to a newer laptop for just an additional $200. Goodluck.

Yes, HP has better customer help than Gateway, besides. I'd say build a custom, but if anything, get the HP.
wow, i was relativly happy with our old gatway. Lasted us a good 7 years actually. And my friend has a gateway laptop thats really nice.
I'm sure u can build your own.. but if not, get it custom made or something. Try tigerdirect for prebuild systems too.. for gaming or just general pc's also, try ibuypower.com ..they got great parts for good prices.. those arent too bad, if you can throw in ur own gfx card...good processors surprisingly...out of the two i'd say gateway is better..but its still possible to get better for same price. plus those dont include monitor, keyboard or mouse i believe..
I have a 77 step, do-it-yourself guide in my PC gamer magazine ... that guides you through how to build your own computer. Even gives you suggested parts for building a good gaming rig for as cheap as you can (parts are even cheaper now). I'll scan it if you want it.
