Okay... not sure what's going on...

If I don't do anything... complete freeze in 10 minutes
If I go on the net..... complete freeze in 5 minutes
If I go on a game (UT/MS)... complete freeze in a few minutes
If I try to do spyware scans... complete freeze in less than 2 minutes

I have no clue what's going on... but all I know it's freezing and it won't work again... the music stops working... the mouse stops... NOTHING WORKS... like it's shut of but at the last screen it was at....

    any suggestions?

Did you download any music or anything like that illeagaly. If so your computer might be infected because of that. Since it freezes in a matter of minutes I don't really know what to do...ill think.

    Either you should reformat, or..

Scan for viruses and spyware in Safe Mode

im pritty sure it aint heat, if ur pc overheats in a few mins then the likley hood of ur pc blowing up is high, i dont think its hardware probs or heat...

    i think its a good old virus/trojan

somthing else i suggest is boot in safe mode then run a virus sweeper of some kind, if u dont have 1 or know any try

    www.avast.com

or search google for ewido anti-malware

(there the best 2 progs iv had for virus and trojan removal) if the pc still freezes try system restore, if it still freezes, format your hard drive then reformat.

wish u the best of luck sorting this out m8

EDIT: I always think of reformatting as a last resort... theres always a way around reformatting, well most of the time

i have nearly reached 1 million files on my pc, and if i were to format would take yonks, so id say leave formatting till last

continually press f8 as your computer loads. Then select safe mode from the list. If you want internet, choose safe mod with networking.

I'm thinking the important things here will be Ram and CPU, maybe free hard drive space as well, becuase without any free space windows = not works

    K I got 512 RAM, 2 GHz Pentium... space
    [IMG]

BTW I did manage to perform a scan with ewido without freezing... but I only did a "quick scan" or registry or somthing...

this is what I got from it

Editing: computer hasn't frozen up on me... but it looks aweful with this big screen....

Dont choose internet with safe mode

Sometimes that's how you get them, when your in safe mode with internet

Safe Mode mostly disables anti virus, so its not protected and if you go to internet then your likely to get spyware and viruses

What I would say is try without internet and scan, if your program freezes, then do an ONLINE scan
