I'll believe this when I got my friggin flying car, it's 2006 already!! *remembers all that "cars will fly in the year 2000" crap from when he was a kid*
Hes right, remember terminator? There were people who thought THAT would happen by that year, and it was the 80s. Hyperspace has no chance. Especially not considering fuel costs, standards of materials used etc, it just wouldnt work.
I really doubt that we will be able to travel in Hyperspace in 5 years. Like other people have said, I'll believe that it will be possible once I get my flying car .
If they ever did get something like this working, you couldn't pay me enough to be the test dummy. Besides, NASA can't even go twenty-five years without some sort of catastrophe, and that's only for missions to orbit the Earth. They need to figure out how to get onto the back porch first before they venture out into the backyard, if you catch my drift.
While this would be nice I think that it is absolute bull ----. This hasn't been put to the test, and is based on physics that are not recognized as existent by most respectable members of the field. Best of luck to them, but unless relativity unravels, this is not possible in our reality. Read up on relativity, as an object approaches the speed of light, it mass becomes effectivly infinite, thus requiring an infinite force to propel it. As for this "other dimension"...come on now, you don't think this would be front page news on every possible media outlet in the world? The only reason it is not being broadcast and posted everywhere is that there is no experimental proof and the theory behind it is incredibly farfetched. Even taking string theory into account, it is still not technically possible given current theories and technology. Even with any technology that we can possibly concieve of, accelerating matter, or somehow shifting matter into one of string theory's multitide of dimenions, just won't work. Don't get your hopes up.
Nice to see someone on Gamerenders with a little intelligience. There have been theories of another dimension for years but it obviously hasn't been discovered yet. Although there is also the theory that you could somehow bend space and time decreasing the distance you would have to travel.
