Is it illegal if a friend makes you an IPB board? Because I know that IPB is like $120 and I have a friend who can give me one if I ask, but I want to know if it is illegal.

i think if its a legal version (he bought it) and hes giving you a subdomain it doesnt make it illegal (meaning i dont think hosting it twice on the same domain is illegal, as it doesnt go against TOS), but if its being hosted elsewhere than the initial domain of your friends, it is illegal.

Your only allowed one live forum per license, so if he has his running and has yours running on the same license then its illegal. If it is version 1.0.3 I think its okay, since they released that version for free, but don't quote me on that, search for yourself.

And your point is? We are not discussing InvisionFree here, we are discussing the full version released by Invision Power Services.
