when jerome got stopped the play before for -1 yards.. come on man they would have kicked the Field goal. After being stuffed 3 times in a row they did not have momentum on thier side.
For the 1st half yea but after that it was all Steelers from the 1st play of the 2nd half it was all Steelers. I dont know how you can say they Seahawks outplayed the Steelers.
blueassmonkey that very well may be the worst possible angle for seeing if the ball is in or not. There is no way to tell from that shot. What happened has already been posted, the challenge could not determine whether or not the ball broke the plane, so the ruling on the field had to stand. And by the way, when teh ball was on the ground, it clearly had not broken the plane, teh question was whether it did so while he was in the air, that is when the ball reached its furthest point. In my opinion it could ahve gone either way, which means it was a td. That wasn't a bad call on the refs part, it was just a close play that created a lot of opportunity to bitch.
the refs only made a couple bad calls and they were pretty even, the jackson catch should have been a TD cause the other guy was grabbing him up a bit too, ben's TD WAS in even if it wasn't they would just get him to boot and run it in on the next play or have bettis to punch it in from inhes out.... steelers deserved the win.
Well he was over while in the air look for news stations to be showing and freezing the play in mid air when the ball is right above the goalline. P.S i could not find any pictures besides that one this close after the end of the game. Merged Post: Are you kidding with the Jackson call? the defender did'nt even look like he knew where he was. He didnt even Touch Darell Jackson.
Overall the game was decent. Nothing special really. It wasn't as exciting as last years at all, but that's not what Super Bowls are about. They're about becoming the National Champion. The Steelers did just that. Alexander played a good game, but Ward stepped up and earned the Super Bowl MVP. He definitly deserved it by my standards. Ben played a solid game, and so did the Steeler defense. The Seahawks were simply beaten by a better team, there is no way around it. It was close at one point, but the 'hawks lost the ball too many times. Congrats to the Steelers.
basing my observation on the whole game. it was not as if the seahawks were not moving the ball down the field. the pass that got picked off in the second half would have been definately in field goal range. steelers basically held onto the ball for last six or so minutes just running the clock. alexander was running the ball well in the second half. stevens dropped a couple passes which he should have caught. looking back, seahawks did outplay steelers in my mind. it was just those big plays like randel el's pass, parker bursting through the hole, etc. that made pitt's victory possible due partly by the seahawks inability to complete drives.
