Say you had a trojan that turned your computer into a proxy server allowing remote users to download through it., you had no idea of this until you recieved the letter from the RIAA informing you of the action taken against you. After been informed you proceeded to get your computer checked out and found out about the infected files on your computer. Look around trojan lists for a trojan that fits that description and tell them it was that and you had no control over it. If you wasn't sharing then i can't see how you can get into trouble.
man that just sucks... thats gonna make the think twice before i go out and download a grip of music jesus... that blows man... but i hope that you dont have to pay a lot of money .... good luck man!!!!
As said before the only way you can get in trouble is if you were sharing the music. Copyright laws say your not allowed to re-distrubite music and say nothing about downloading it. You should always move your music that you downloaded into another folder as soon as it is done downloading it. Thus making it so people can't than go ahead and download it off you. Good luck with your situation tho
