Well, its about time I buy a new PC... One, because my Graphics Card won't allow me to play any games after... well basically 2001, and it only has 24.8 Gigs of hard drive. Total. Not free. I probably need a good gaming PC, anyhwere from 500meg - 1gig of RAM, at least 100 gigs of hard drive space, and 1280x764 resolution, and under $1000. I know, kinda specific, but does anyone have any reccomendations?
well you can custom make it like my bro and my dad did but thatts alili complicated are you willing to spend 5 grand to get a top of the line comp?
He doesnt need to waste 5 grand dude. Are you from the US? if so try newegg. If you are gonna build it yourself you can get my build, which does not include a HD, monitor, soundcard, speakers, keyboard/mouse, or OS if you need those. This cost me $900, almost exactly. It is very good and you will LOVE the processor. Just do not get an Intel if you dont like my choice. CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3800+ x2 - $300-320 RAM: 1gb dual channel Corsair XMS - $100 Gfx card: connect3d radeon x800gto (get sapphire gto2 if you wanna unlock pipelines easier) - $175 MoBo: Asus A8N-E - $105 Drive: Nec 3550 $40 PSU: FSP Group AX450 (epower puma II is probly better tho) - $40/50 Case: Xion II XON-103 (can be changed to anythin u want) - $40 Actually, i think thats only 810^ so idk where i messed up but its pretty good there..
Here are my recommendations if your gonna get a budget machine: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8VT890-9 Graphics card: Spead all the rest of the money on the best graphics card you can afford on your budget (This topic is up for debate) Hard drive: Maxtor Maxline III 300Gb Monitor: BenQ FP71V+ 5ms response time and 17in with 1280x1024 native resolution Case: if you have some money left you can opt for a nice looking case or you can get a cheap generic case your choice really... RAM: PQI Turbo PC3200 1Gb RAM (Two 512 sticks of ram) BTW there is no such thing as 500megs of RAM, 100Gb hard drives are really laptop territory and why a resolution of 1280x764 go one better and get 1280x1024 ^_^
why not get the x2 3800+ it is literally twice the processor and the price is not exponential. you will end up going 50 over budget if you get the same thing that diablo recomended, but you willl have a much smoother experience.
Yea, do not go with a 3200...my friend has one and my system is much smoother than his... EDIT: allright no problem dude vv
Good setup. But drop the motherboard to an ASRock 939Dual-SATA2. Drop the RAM to a G.Skill 1gb (2x 512mb) Kit alot cheaper. Then up the graphics card to a 7800GT.
