Ok, well I ran it, and let it go all the way thru its 3-4 tests whatever it is, and I believe I got an extremely ----ty rating compared to what I should get... here: http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/6834/score5fp.jpg I am running: AMD Athlon 3800 x2 connect3D x800gto 1gb dual channel Ram I run things fine in game, CoD2 on full settings, so whats up with this score? shouldnt it be higher?.. I'm using the basic edition of 06..
I would say that's about right. I mean a magazine I read managed to get a copy of the full edition and ran it on a system with an Athlon X2 4800, 2gb ram, dual 7800GTX, you get the picture (an amazing computer). It only scored something like 4700
I thought they got 1 7800 to about 10.000 marks with normal air cooling. I don't know if it's just an extreme difference between 05 or 06, but I have a friend with a 3.0Ghz intel and a x800 getting higher. If that's your final outcome with your specs I'm just guessing the latest 3Dmark has other priorities or whatever. That or my and my friends tests are way too high.
Okay. 3dmark06 uses Shader Mark 3.0 which only Nvidia 6 and 7 series has and X1-00 series has. Dialbo thats why your score is ----ty. Also 2 X1900XTX Overclocked only score around 10K.
haha yeah Diablo I know.. got the same thing.. i heared that something was not right so I tested it myself a while ago.. and a low score was reached though I can run every game in high res.. dunno but after i did it again i got a different score.. maybe you should try it again?
^of course it will its in relation to current hardware. That score is fine 3d mark means ---- all anyways. The 6600gt scores higher than our x800gtos but everyone knows the x800gto's are alot better. dont worry its just because of the lack of sm3 support.
they got 10k on the 05 version which was made before the 7800s and the x1800s, both of which revolutionized gaming with their sheer power. the 06 version is made to push those next gen cards to the limits so your current gen card should be gettting semi low, I only expect to be getting around 2500-3000 AFTER I upgrade my ram. the 06 version is just a lot tougher and newer. EDIT: FYI Diablo, the reason you don't get higher is because you do not have HDR nor a few newer technologies. just little pieces of eye candy... you get a 0 score for them though which is unfair since you can disble it in games and play just fine and have it still look pretty
