I have read alot of the older posts about custom gaming computers, but I decided to make a thread and ask which companies are the best. I would make my own comp, but it's my mom's money, not mine, so unfortunately that's not an option. So which of the following is the best, in your opinion:

    ibuypower
    falcon northwest
    alienware
    voodoo
    others?

I also know that alienware has a reputation for being hugely overpriced, so I don't want an endless thread on how they are overpriced, like I have seen some other threads turn into, and I don't want an endless thread about how building your own is the best, because I can't. Just give me your opinion on the above, or any other computer companies.

I would suggest getting a Dell XPS system (since your not making your own). Those are pretty powerfull gaming systems, and are generally very speedy.

For gaming, go with either Voodoo, Alienware, or a Dell XPS system. They may be a bit over priced, but seeing as you can't make your own it's your only option.

He cant build, read the topic before you post

I guess he could find one there, but his mom is less likely to let him buy a computer from a company she doesnt know >.<

    Dell XPS most likely

wait until Dell starts using core duos for processors, because pentium 4s and processors based on them(pentium Extreme Edition, P4EE, Xeon, Pentium D, Celeron D) are by no means good for gaming as compared to the athlon X2s, the athlon 64s, the Pentium Ms and even the Celeron Ms.

anyone who says Dell XPS though doesn't know much, Dell horribly overcharges. Ibuypower may seem expensive, but it's still about 30-40% cheaper than getting it from dell on the mid end and about 50-60% cheaper on the high end.

Alienware is VERY good. it's also even more overpriced than Dell. Unless you are utterly rich, don't buy from them

Voodoo is like a higher end version of Alienware. They make extreme systems, the best quality. They also charge the highest premium. Again, don't bother with it unless you have some insane funding.

as for falcon northwest: I have not heard anything bad abou them, I have heard they are fairly good, but I know vrey little about them. If I am not mistaken they use water cooling a lot which is nice. Research them a bi more.

Dont listen to the people saying Alienware or Voodoo. They are good, but big money wasters. Since its not your money dont go with them!

Try building it yourself from like, newegg.com . Or ibuypower.com Those are probly two best bets..

it's 8000$ and you could build a better system for 3000$ save for the fact that you would only have two x1900s insteed of four 7800GTXs, but really, SLI like that only helps at extreme resolutions, there is simply no need.
