ok, i have read alot posts and threads here about making renders for sigs, etc etc..
Whats the difference with most of what I have read here about making renders than doin what I do?

    I do the following....

    1) When I find a pic inside of a pic or whatever, I usually save it as a bitmap and bring it up in photoshop.
    2) I unlock it in layers, once unlocked I use the ERASER TOOL to cut out everything around the pic I wanna use... In other words I erase everything in the pic other than what I wanna use in my sig or whatever..
    3) either I save it then as a GIF or PNG...or I go ahead and copy it to paste on the background or whatever layer I am on ..which dosent matter for you can rearrange the layers in the layer box lol

I am just wondering if this can be used to make renders or am I too n00bish and just need to start all over again lol

yup but usually designers dont do that cuz it requiers lots of time and patience, also it comes out choppy if you arent good at it, i also do that when i want to render a pic out of a wallpapers or seomting.. but asking for a render is also good cuz it doesnt take you 30 minutes of hard work if ya know what im saying ^_^ ;)

I use the Pen tool and zoom in to about 500%, then I use the polygonal lasso tool to touch it up. Then I use some matting, a quick feather and I save it as a PNG. Works great ^^
