Ive heard Illustrator is the best thing for vector art but Ive just got that lately and Ive found it REALLY REALLY hard to use and have gone back to using photoshop.
    Is there something better?

The thing is, you can define vectors on 2 ways:
    1) Regular shapes
    2) Mathematically defined shapes

With the first one, you can both use illustrator and photoshop.
The second one however, is different.

There's vectorart and pixelart. With vectorart, you wont find gradients or pixel with lower opacity on the border. Thats why when using photoshop, you don't really create vectorart, because photoshop automatically adds pixels behind the border to make it look smoother.

So if you really want to create vectors, I suggest you keep on trying with illustrator :D

Hmm... PS is not too bad for vector, could stick with it, its reliable nonetheless.

True vector art is made with Adobe Illustrator. I don't use vector style tho.

wise words of wisdom. you really don't create vector art in photoshop (although there are hundreds of tutorials which say you can), it is not really vector (as already defined by phate). keep on working with illustrator and good luck mate.

If you can work the pen tool in PS, then you can work it in Illustrator. Just keep at it and you'll get used to it quickly.

I learned how to use the pen tool in Illustrator first, then starting using it in PS....I much prefer Illustrator, there's many more options, not to mention you have more control over it.

I think you should use photoshop, it takes time but you get good results.

Trust me, you'll get far better from Illustrator.

I've used both extensively and Illustrator is superior for vectors because that is what it's made to do.
