Setting Up My Internet

    i just reformatted my comp and before the internet automatically connected butnow it won't. Also it doesn't seem to detect my modem and my router shows no signs of connections.

    keep them plugged in a reset your router and box :)

    there should be a little button on the back you can press in with a pen/pencil. it should start up again and you computer should detect a modem, if it doesnt, i unno.

    most of the time you don't need drivers... I never installed any for my router.

    make sure you set the gateway and/or dns settings.

    Not quite sure what you mean. Did you try enabling the connection in Network Options in the Control Panel?

    yeah i tried about every option possible but o well my dads friend is comin over today to fix it

    tell us how he fixed it, if he does fix it... I bet it's just that he has to put in the gateway or DNS's IP.

    most modems got there own dhcp forwardin so you should only setup yer router to auto accept the ip adress. then yer router should obtain you with a ip aswell

    ^^ yeah thats always happened before and yeah xmasterx i'll tell ya how he fixed it i think hes at his trailor tho so it may be a couple of days

    lmao i needed the install disk for my motherboard with all the drivers and evrything lol im gettin a copy made now

    ya not that hard all you need is ethernet drivers :rolleyes:
