i would not overclock it. rather buy a new gfx card cause i have seen many cards die because of not overclocking with causion
basically, its not the overclocking that will raise the temp of your cpu. You could overclock it all you wanted without raising it a degree. However it woudlnt be stable at all, you need to increase the cpu voltage to keep the cpu running stable, the increase in cppu voltage is what makes the heat go up, nothnig else. Therefore, overclocking in slight moderation can be beneficial for most people, giving slight little boosts can be nice.
Nope that is a wrong. The faster the electrical circuts in the CPU need to work faster they get hotter. Just like when you are sprinting you get sweater faster than running.
first off, my temp monitor is way off, so dont believe anything it says...the mobo is just crap. anyways, stock settings, no load, "52*" 2.2Ghz oced to 2.32Ghz "52*"
Phix, you know what core you have? I'm CPU shopping, and was looking for the 3700+ Clawhammer, but NewEgg doesn't have 'em... <_<
I never got that AMD is better then Intel on lower speed thing. Because Ghz is like a unit, it doensn't depend on the brand of the cpu. It's like you have mm, cm, m. you also have Hz, Mhz, Ghz So how would you explain an AMD at 1.5 Ghz running just as fast as an Intel on 1.8  If someone could tell me that isntead of just saying something that comes down to "AMD is faster"
amd 3700 sandiego 939, good processor, but i would save up a little more and get something better for the future
ok. A 1.5ghz AMD is faster than a 1.8 Intel because: how it processes data: a. AMD is faster at processing data then Intel. b. Intel has to work twice as hard to process the same data. I wrote this too many times now... if you match them up, AMD will always triumph..
Okay, that's one of the ones I've been looking at. And this is my saving up... 15 years old + $7/hour job + girlfriend = not much cash for computer upgrades.
