Ya dude ... I used to have a 17" CRT monitor and had it on 1024 x 768 and saw nothing wrong with it. Of corse ... now I have a 17" LCD monitor at 1280 x 1024. If your monitor has an auto adjust setting ... press that after changing the resolution or refresh rate and it will align it and sharpen it for you. If you don't ... all monitors can be readjusted manually by the buttons on it to make it less distorted and so it takes up the whole screen without black space. Hope this helps.

Let me put it straight, isnt just about the monitor its about the graphics card aswell, how old it may be.

I'd recomand for a 15" to use 1024x768...or your eyes will suffer.
    and for a 17" i use 1280x1024...

and try to keep your refresh rate above 75Hz

in my opinion jus keep it on 1024x768
nything more puts a lot of strain on ur eyes unless uve got the refresh rate set at nything above 200 hertz as ur eyes can detect ny changes upto 200 hertz =/

but if ur already a blind nub with glasses GL with that
