Seriously guys... I mean you attack first, and then the other guy attacks? And you melee back and forth? And what's up with always finding gold with butt-ugly monsters? Oh, here's a classic: The cave. Every single RPG has a cave, full of more bull and monsters. And also, how are you always able to go into other people's houses? Totally lame. And stat building? Sad. You actually get to CHOOSE the type of stats you want raised! Amazing! And also the classic people: Either Warrior, Dwarf, Elf, Mage, Archer, and other trash like that And also Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and "elemental" crap like that. Let me tell you something: humans will never be able to shoot fire water or anything else out of their hands or a wimpy magic stick. There are also no such things as elves and dwarves (unless you are a midget). Stick some real stuff in it. RPGs suck balls.
*gasp* Also, Death.by.design, he is talking about a vast majority of RPGs. Most of modern day and previous in-depth RPGs (everquest, GW, WoW, Neverwinter Nights, Baulders Gate, etc.) included basically what he said above. I personally disagree with you. An RPG is a "role playing game". If it was based on non-fiction how much fun would that be? You get to play like... the president instead of a citizen, oh joy *sarcasm*. I love RPGs. Just about everything about them. The newer ones suck only because they take like 20-30 hours to beat instead of the normal 60+ on the older ones (i love long games like that, they keep me entertained and i feel i get my moneys worth).
