i just backed up my family guy movie, when i go to burn, it says i cant because my cd is 700mbs and the file is 780mbs. is there any way i can maybe split it to a 2nd cd, so i have one filled and the rest on a 2nd cd?

    thanks,

    http://www.dekabyte.com/filesplitter/download.html
you can split the file with this app or you can use this
    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/virtual...12.zip?download
Virtual Dub is a little harder to use but you can encode the video to something with a better compression rate like DivX and really shrink the file while keeping great quality.
    check for guides on www.doom9.org

or even better just put it on a DVD then you dont have to do anything to the file and if you have Nero 6's ultra edition you can author the DVD to play on your player so you dont have to keep the files around on your computer ;)

    EDIT: Ty for the creds!

stop triple posting, for one thing...

i believe if you can get a editing program like microsoft movie maker, or Vegas, you can cut it to fit 700mb..

I think you could also lower the quality, and make it fit on a cd, or just go dvd...

    my ideas..
