Motherboard Processor Ram Hard Drive CD/DVD Burner Computer Case --I love the color of it. Video Card --Kind of cheap, but the reviews were good. Total $546.98 Is it all compatible, and how do you think it will run? Do I need anything else?
I would recommend not getting the flashiest case you can find. I did that and I hate it now. I recommend you go amd so I will get a new components list for you to check out.
Motherboard: ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 ($66) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813157081 CPU: AMD 64 3200+ ($160) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103535 RAM: G.Skill 1gb (2x512mb) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231027 Video Card: Sapphire x800GT 256mb ($119 after rebate) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102636 Hard Drive: Western Digital Cavair 160gb SATA2 ($85) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822144415 Case: Linkworld ($22) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811164040 Power Supply: Epower Puma II ($46.50) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811164040 DVD Burner: Benq DQ60 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16827101002 Total: $633.22 The only way I can see reducing the price is to drop the case to a really really cheap one, drop the x800gt to a 6600gt (fair performance loss) and rather than buying a new burner use one from an old pc.
Okay there are several things wrong with that quote. First the power supply in the case is crap. Get a different one. I would recommand Antec SmartpowerII. Second, Your motherboard is PCI-E and your video card is AGP. Third, the RAM is ----. Get some OCZ,G.skill, or Mushkin.
the ram he had chosen was fine. rosewill is a good brand. antec is too expensive and lastly he doesnt have enough for too much.
Okay. What is wrong with the motherboard and the video card? They won't match, is that what you are trying to say? I do not know what "agp" means. I will look for a cheaper, but better case. What is a good power supply?
AGP is a type of slot that cards fit into. PCI-e (16x) is better. the PSU he gave is good case matters for almost nothing, it's not hard to find a case that works well spending 50$ more will get you nothing more. defuzions case is fine. the 6600 is a decent card, but as defuzion said, the x800GTO is a step ahead of it, if you could bump your price to about 650-700$ it would be a bit easier to get a better system. here is a quick question, do you have any inention of gaming? if you don't a P4 may be better than an athlon and you can skimp on the graphics card.
I am liking the processor, video card, motherboard, ram and hard drive, but a bit too much for my liking. I will work something out, talk to some people. Gtg to bed. Thanks. Will view tomorrow.
Lol, I contradicted myself. Sorry, I meant to say that I like them, but it is too much for me. I am 15, and I probably will pay for half of it. Most likely 75% of it. I have about $700 I can spend, not going to spend it all though. Thanks. Keep the posts and suggestions coming.
I know this is probably gonna be looked down upon...but I would suggest that you wait till like March ( or after ) and then start looking into prices on computer stuff. I say this because prices are gonna start dropping like dresses on prom night when the newer graphic chipsets get released. Who knows, you might even be able to find some nifty combo deals. Also the site ( I think ) tigerdirect .com or .net is a pretty decent site to look at prices from.
You should buy a motherboard that supports AMD. Along with that, an AMD Athlon 64 processor is much better and faster than the Intel (runs pretty hot though).
