The skin is created using a 2.1.4 transverse styles skin as a base(the cat headers and color scheme). Stripping the original header, we went with a custom made flash header thats simple, but fits in nicely. The skin was first coded over to 2.0.4, making it alittle bit more unique..and then the color of blue used originally was changed.

    Changes in the future:
    • Change the blue in the flash header to match the forum's color scheme
    • Incorporate our created logo(made by retro) into the flash header
    • Add a few more links, and possible change up the way links work..to make it easier on members
    • Button overhaul for Key buttons(new post, no new post, locked, etc)
    • Make the middle of the header link to the main site lol(was requested)
Give any feedback, but don't just say 'it sucks' :P Doesn't help me improve it.

Very, Very nice skin. Very unique, great style and feel to it. Love the flash navigation and would love to purchase a style template of that nature sometime.

    You suck.

    ...
    Hey BFTP! :)

The flash header is a cool feature. On the other hand, the boomerang shape does not "flow" with the rest of the skin, which is mostly boxes, rounded rectangles, etc. "Flow" concerns the element of design kown as movement. More information on movement can be read here.

I honestly do not like the text used on the flash header. I like when the text on the navigation of a website does not have anti-aliasing.

The whole forum skin could use additional contrast. The value (lightness-darkness) and colors need contrast.

The text on the bottom navigation needs to be properly aligned with the images.

Besides that, the forum skin is very nice. Good job.

By the way, you never asked me to send you the .psd of the logo or anything.

It's common practice for webmasters to give a link to an established website in order to receive critique and feedback from web designers. I personally do not think it is advertising if he is specifically asking for feedback on the websites design.

I like the template quite alot. Maybe not so easy on the eyes like GR but definetly has a better design compared to it. To be honest the flash guy did a poor job on the "banner"

Thanks for the review r, i will go back to the drawing board and see if i can find anything. I'll send you a email about the PSD of the logo now as well ;)

I think the flash header sums up our style and what we, as a site, we're trying to do. Something simple, that does(or will soon :P) fits the skin's overall color scheme, but still looks nice. Yes, we could probally design something & load it up with flash - but that would be a bandwidth killer, and turn more members off then on, to the site. Have to remember, this banner is loaded at least 10 times from just checking a single Private Message; so it needs to be quick to load and get the job done. Bhirst created the banner btw, and he is a member at this site if you wish to contact him for some work :)

    Don't reaally like it.
The flash needs some serious work and it overall seems kinda...amatuerish. I'm not sure, its too dull and it just doesn't fit for me.
