I wish I could think of that as cheap... I'd upgrade the graphics card, though. I'm going to be getting the same CPU + MOBO combo as that as soon as I save up enough cash.

If its for gaming ... the graphics card is pretty weak and the ram is a bit slow. The processor and the rest of the stuff is very nice. Should run awesome on games like Half Life 2 and such. But it wont hold up in games like F.E.A.R. and CoD 2. Just a suggestion.

It should hold up in CoD2 just fine... I can run it on High at ~ 45FPS with my 2.5 GHz Celeron D, 768MB PC3200 RAM and GeForce 6600GT.

What was the resolution on it ... and did you have Anti-Aliasing and Aniosotropic Filtering on. Cause that kills your frame rates. I run it on everything Extra, 4x AA, 16x AF and 1280 x 1024 and get about 50 FPS with my x850 XT Platinum Edition. I will be buying another 512 MB stick of RAM though ... so i have 1.5 GB :D

AA on 2x, 4x AF... CoD2 is pretty stable.

Uhh, I got the same CPU, an asus a8n-e, and a x800GTO, and it ran fine on CoD2 at high setttings..and I could run Fear maxed out but if tooo much started goin on like explosions it would lag too much..or like if the helicopter came it lagged jsut then, but it isnt that hard to get really good performance..

His WONT run new games well as its just a plain 6600 no gt on it, its a cripple. Change the motherboard to an ASROCK Dual-SATA2 becuase you dont need sli and gigabyte is good for p4's not amd. Get a better psu not that no-name crap. Get an Antec Truepower 500W.

ASROCK, can't even see that anywhere...the gfx card and ram will be upgraded...just not for quite a while, this is maxing out my budget as it is....so i take it that the hiper psu isn't very good then...

"Antec TruePower II 480W PSU" i can afford that one i think...but will 480w be enough for me?..

I have a Thermal Take 430W PSU and my comp runs great. I have a P4 3.0 HT, 1.5 GB of PC 3200 RAM, ASUS x850 XT Platinum Edition, 120 GB Hard Drive and the normal stuff ... CD-Burner ... etc. 480 Should run fine.

You're running a 6600. 480 is more than enough, if it's a halfway decent PSU. I've got a 450W epower puma II PSU, with 28a on the 12v rail, runs my 6600GT great.
