http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_quadsli.html i could not keep my mouth closed here is a nother article about it http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=195 they say each graphics card has 1 gb of ram !! <edit> here is a pic
been out for a while. I personally don't see the point. if a single GT maxes out every game then what benifit do you get from having 4 GTXs? 8 times the cost too.
I've seen this before, but still this would be a pretty sweet setup. Even if you could afford it there are only going to be 1,000 made (and signed by Michael Dell himself) so guys like Fatal1ty will scoop them up in no time
Its not like it really helps much. Its only good for multi-monitors, and to show off what potential there is.
did u know, that those flames arent painted on, but are actually emblazened by the heat radiating from 4 top of the line gfx cards place right freakin next to each other...
If I can play games maxed out now with an AGP 8x card ... then you should be able to run games maxed out for the next 10 years with this ... it's a good investment for the long run. But power supply size would be an issue. And the heat generated must be massive
It's pretty cool to have 4 GPUS in one machine (if I ever come across). But what is the point of having 4 if 1 GPU can max out any game?
yeah I saw this on Slashdot about 2 weeks ago..it is mindblowing but not that big of a deal for the games currently out..you will barely see any difference between this and using a regular SLI NVidia 7800 Ultra GTX..in the current games that is...in the future when developers increase and ramp the quality of games I am sure the quad will be needed..
get a server motherboard and run 4 2.8GHZ opertrons OC-ed to 3.4GHZ with 8GB ram and quad SLI for the ability to play HL2, Doom III, Quake 04, and Fear at max simultaneously.
its targeted at users of the dell 24" and 30" monitors. This has actually been known since about october because dell wasnt the first.
LOL ... and that will run you over the 20,000 dollar budget most likely ... I think I would rather have a car for that much ^_^
The 7800 GTX 512 MB has one graphics chip ... these new cards have 2 graphics chips in each one. Essentially doubling the power of the 7800 GTX card. If I ever had enough money ... im planning on upgrading in 2 years ... by then ... they should have some sweet stuff out ... right now ... they already have a Dual 6600, 6600 GT, 6800 GT and 7800 GT. Check those out ... they are nice and availible right now. To run them quad ... you need a motherboard that supports SLI 16x in each slot. Most SLI Motherboards only offer 8x in SLI and that wont work for quad SLI.
