Go for the new 6800 GS ... this one is one of the best of them. 12 Pipelines, 400 MHz Core, 1100 Mhz Memory ... Availible at newegg. --> Here is the exact link. ... I would go for it if I were you. I had a Geforce 5200 just like you and upgraded to an ASUS x850 XT Platinum Edition. This card is $100 cheaper than the one I bought though.

you all realize that what you are suggesting costs about twice as much. Also, if you are going to get the 6800, you might as well pay the extra 50$ or so to get the 7800.

the x800 is more powerfull than the 6600 and is about the same price. Also, you can unlock pipelines on the x800GTO to make it powerfull enough to exceed the 6800.

    aprox prices(USD): listed by power
    6200[128mb] 60-80$
    6600[128mb] 130-180$ depending on model
    x1600XL[128mb] 130-140$
    x800GTO[128mb](can exceed 6800 if pipelines unlock) 130$
    6800[128-256mb] 170-300$
x1800XL[256-512mb - OCs very well and pipe unlock] 250-380$
    7800 GT[256mb] 270-380$
x1800XT[256-512 - can OC to outperform two 7800GTXs]450-550$
    7800GTX[256mb] 480-580$
    7800GTX[512mb] 700-900$

remember that vRAM (MB) does not equal more power, 128mb of vRam is powerful enough for most things. order may be off slightly for some things, but you get the idea...

they should, they are made in the AGP form.

try another site or a local retailer if you have to.

what site are you looking on though?

yep get the gigabyte. EVERYONE stop giving him ideas, he doesnt have pci-e, graphics cards down here ARE expensive. I already looked through NZ stores and there are no x800's. The 6600GT you chose is good. However if you want better get the leadtek 6600gt on this page - http://www.atech.co.nz/videocards.html

Even though the 6600 GT isn't the best ... it should run all ur stuff fine and I personally think its one of the best deals right now considering the price on newegg and other websites. And yes ... It owns the 5200 by many many miles :D .
