Just wondering if you guys prefer a SLI/Crossfire setting for the future or you want just another PCI slot. In other words.

1 Good GFX card or a duel setting. :)

I'd rather have one good card now, SLI doesn't do a ton and at the time crossfire isn't much ahead.

dual cards is only about e-penis size. Its cheaper to get single cards that are better as generally its cheaper.

    Depending on other stuff.

I'd either go SLI or Single.

Because.. Crossfire isn't like as experienced and tested as much unlike SLI

Cross fire fully works and outperforms SLI by as much as 20%, also you are capable of using two diferent GPUs in Cross fire and diferent amounts of Vram without being bumped down to the lower level.

If I was not on a budget, I'd go with SLI. I know CrossFire out-performs it, but there is nothing out there that can fully utilize it anyway.

Just one PCI slot here with a Radeon9250 Saphire (256mb) is good enough for me here.

  12. if you have evolved to the point where you eyes can distinguish the difference between 70 fps and 100 fps sure go for sli.

First of all, Crossfire is NOT better than SLI. They're exactly the same thing. My God...

Now, if you want to talk about ATI vs. nVidia, you may have a legitimate argument. Best thing to do would be to compare ATI and nVidia's top cards. In this case it would be the X1800XTPE and the 7800GTX512. Seeing as you can't get a 512MB GTX anywhere, the X1800XT wins. I added the PE because Sapphire released a BIOS update that safely overclocks the X1800XT to 700/800 from 625/750. Nice big boost in framerates. It worked beautifully on mine.

Now, my verdict on dual vs. single. Dual is only good if you game at extremely high resolutions. We're talking in excess of 1600x1200. Otherwise, SLI/Crossfire are a waste of money. Get a single 7800GT/X or X1800XT and you should be fine.

Exactly. You hit it right now the spot. Then again I would rather have the option of upgrading to Crossfire than having a PCI card (dying) or a PCI-E x1,x4, and x8 slot (nothing out except scsi cards)
