well it's like this, i have a tower, but it won't fully boot, i've heard that it's the BIOS messed up, and i believe they said i need a new motherboard..yeah..it's around 6-8 years old (can't remember). the other thing is i have a computer...slow as hell, can't run paint and cd player at the same time without freezing. It's probably 10 years old atleast, and it's not even a tower.

ANYWAY. My question is this. Would i be able to salvage something from the old POS non-tower to put in the not as old POS tower that won't start to make it work? btw, the non tower one works, i use it here and there, so would i be better off buying new parts?

trash them both 6 years is too much. Although if u cant afford it, I would try to combine the two computers to make it better. Maybe try switching the motherboards, and then put on the harddrives on the one computer. You should be able to combine the two. I did it with 2 5 year old computers i got from my dads work and it runs well. good luck.

If you have an extra bit of spare change then just build a new one..
For a new one for gaming, a minimum of about 750 bucks. For one just to use that wont suck. We can probly get you something for 600-ish. Or if you have a really small budget we can try for 500.

Your original post kind of confused me so I'm just saying approx prices for new computers...

So your budget would be like 500 for you?

Would you be building this or do you need it prebuilt?
    are you in the usa?

from ibuypower they havea prebuilt for 544:

Its pretty good..although it does not come with an OS..and you might do better just building it..

I wasnt really goin for what you originally wanted to do to bring back your old pc cuz that ones just way too old..
