Just a warning against people thinking about joining the Army Reserve (ROTC): It's widely regarded as the "wuss batallion" of the US Army. It's notorious for being full of people that want to put military service on their job applications and such, but don't have the guts to enlist or become an NCO. That's just the Army's viewpoint on it. I think that any kind of service is great, and you should do what you feel comfortable doing.

Lol, a nurse... Anyway my bro is in the military, almost a year now or so. Canadian military, and he might leave for Afghanistan in 08. He's going to bring my back a rocket launcher! And I might join the military. Gunna sacrifice my life for my country, and kill some terrorists.
Well this thread is so old...but your right the sacrifices you make when you join your countries military are going to be alot bigger compared to what it was like 10 years ago.
True. But since Canadians only really peacekeep in Afghan, it might actually be easy. Though of course there is always the dangers. I could be guarding a a group of trucks on the road and boom, land mine. Though some military experience might be good. And infact right now my brother is gone on another training course and won't be home in a couple of days. From all his experience he is alreadyyqualified as a machine gunner.
I support all the US forces. I support your decision. And you are going to become a nurse, you'll see some serious wounds and stuff Im pretty sure. Anyways be safe.
