well im sure everyone has heard about this, the death toll is at about 100,000 by now...... ill give a brief description of the story.... two major tectonic plates shifted under the indian ocean causing a huge amount of displaced water thus sending huge tidal waves hitting countrys in a 360 effect. The force of the earthquake was equal too 10,000 atomic bombs it also threw the earth of its axis slightly causing the day to be shorter.... i know people imagine tidal waves being 200 feet tall an shit but thats not what they look like, just alot of water rushing inland.

heres some links to footage of waves hitting, kinda scary

I have heard about this several times on the radio, i Have read about it in the newspaper. Its a shame, so many people lose there lives because of the way mother nature decided to act.

It's pretty stupid to hear that tourists ran the opposite ways than the locals and began taking pictures...

The deaths are more than 110000 thousand. At least thats what they said on BBC.And Itend to believe BBC. The tragedy is big, biggest loss of lives since WW2.My mind just cant take it.

Too Bad they didnt have any Tsunami or Tidalwave education especially the coastal people like Unusual Rapid Low-tide & Near Earthquakes will usually start up Tsunami/Tidalwave

Here in Hawaii we have a Civil Defence System with Meters,Scales & buoys miles in the ocean so if any big swell coming we would know right away

We also Have 2minute Civil Defence Drills every 1st of the month when TV,Radio are interupted & a Very Loud Warning Siren/Horn Blows for 2minutes

Many of the local people in would still be alive if the had some Prep Education & a Warning System.
