    Pausing 'is' stopping the song.

Not sure why you'd need a STOP and PAUSE feature on your iPod.

So I guess i'm asking, why do you need to stop a song, as appose to pausing it?

You either have a Play/Stop button (Like my IRiver) or a Play/Pause button (Like all iPods.) Be happy with your iPod's Pause button.

Usually its only pause, no stops on mp3 players.

    I don't think there is.

My ipod doesn't h ave that function either, and I'm wondering why Apple never implemented into the gizmo.

I'm sure there's a good reason for it though.

pause and stop are basicly the same thing.... you dont really need a stop button.
