pretty good setup. dont get the wireless set. they are all so unreliable. and they cost more. i aggree with the amd over intel. alothough intels are better video encoders if your into that. although that system will do pretty much everything.

I have to disagree, I have been using Logitech wireless for two + years now and have had no problems, as long as you remember to charge your mouse it should work great.

and if the G7 had been out when I bought the MX1000 set I would have gotten the G7 instead, it's pure sexiness.

unless your serious about moving your pc alot with that shuttle, id move to a mid tower, especially if you plan on getting an intel, if not, wthiout any special cooling, your temps would be out of control.

thats all i have to throw in

If you wanna save a bit of money, you can try this dvd drive instead since its almost 30 dollars less..

I got it, its pretty good.

The memory is good, but i dont see why you would have so much with that processor. Do what defuzion says, just I'd start at a minimum of a 3500 personally..

default cooling will be fine if you get a normal case..

btw, whats the point of a shuttle pc? I would definetly just get a normal tower if its a home pc..

the x2 3800+ rapes that p4 in the ass. if you want intel based though, go for the PXE 3.4GHZ it is about on par with the x2 3800+, just 1000$ more and uses twice the energy and doubles as a small space heater.

if you go AMD then get this ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231047
it is lower latency (for AMD based systems latency is more important than the speed of the ram to a fair extent)

FYI, the reason why Dell comps are so crappy is because they solely include Intel procs (P4s are dead right now FYI, and they will be fully obselete in about 8 months) use crudy motherboards and they have cruddy misc components like PSUs, DVD/CD drives, ram, etc.
