ok. i have some kind of worm on my computer called w32.spybot.worm. i tried to delete it manually but i get a error that says i do not have access to that file, or the program is in use. so i click ctrl alt delete and i click end progream on the file then my computer restarts and said the scvhost unexpectdly crashed. the file the worm is in is call scvhost.exe. apparently this is a very important file or soemthing. i tried a norton anti-virus sweep and it detected nothing. i tried a ad-aware lava soft scan and that couldnt kill it but i get 200 compents (spyware) every time i scan. can some one please help me.

Have you tried starting it up in safe mode then trying to delete it in safe mode?

thats odd that norton doesnt pick it up. every time i get a spyware thing norton finds it right away. waht version of norton are you using? and are your virus definitions up to date?

Scvhost.exe and svchost.exe are two different things (notice the switch around of the letters 'c' and 'v'). Scvhost.exe is a (high threat leval I think) virus, svchost.exe is a vital system process.

Also known as W32.Blaster.Worm by symantec.

Here is the automat removal tool from symantec

The manual removal instructions can be found here.

    Hope that helps.
