and GameWallpapers isn't going to take legal actions, so that's no problem if you render things from over there. If we should follow every rule, we can't render anything without permission. and GR wouldn't exist anylonger

 

yes im ok with this, the only stuff that ive rendered off da is my own stuff so ya know that ok.

 

Thank you for the info, I did not no this, and I *used* to goto DA to look at diffrent things but looks like all Ill be there for are brushes...

Yeah, this is fair. The artists over at DA put ALOT of work into their pics, and using those pics for any other reason is going to detract from their work.

Okay, now dont get me wrong- cause I love DA and I use it as well for my own artwork- and as much as I CANT STAND RIPPING- its going to happen and I look at it this way-

What is the chance of DA Actually going to your blog or personal domain and sending emails saying HEY thats not yours, take off or ill- ill- Go to the FBI

I mean seriously here, as I said I use it too. But Im here puttng this HUGE label over my images because well im not a ----ing moron- if someone wants to use them they will use them regardless of copyrights and regardless of whether or not its on DA, as sad to say as it is.

Personally Id Love it if everyone actually respected rules/laws etc but in reality some people just dont care. And we as artists need to recognize that. Some people could care less if you rant and rave (figuratively) at their door, sending emails, complaints whatever. DA has thousands of people uploading their artwork and with all due, it would be near impossible to locate every stolen piece of artwork, and even if they did, even more so to make Actual reports and file lawsuits over the hundreds if not thousands of people who Do claim others artwork as their own.

The only thing that really saves work from being stolen is the good nature of the people who see the art themselves. Its a gamble but drawing, painting etc is our passion and all we ask is a little permission, we go out on a gamble to share our hard work with the public, but thats the risk we take.

 

to answer your question

every picture that is from DA or CG-talk will get deleted, unless the member has proof that he got permission. If someone uses DA or CG-talk pictures more often, he'll get banned from GR.

to prevent people posting pictures from DA, we dicided to make it a rule that the original and source allways need to be provided. if not, a mod will take action.
