Digital Concepts Lawsuit

Well, a buddy of mine and I were talking the other day, and aparently he came across dc-styles.com or something...Ive seen it advertised here pm GR aswell. Anyway, he may be filing charges of fraud because their new website, which was not built by them, missleads customers into thinking it is a profecional design company. He did some research, and found that it is, like Gamerenders, a bunch of teens and 3-4 adults playing with photoshop. They also claim on the website, or "misslead" that one of their own staff created the template. They gave the users name, and a name of a company that he is with, but the company does not exist. Right now the law suit is based on false advertising, but if he were to actualy buy something and be ripped off...This could be bigger. Let this be a lesson to all of you kids. No matter how "l33t" you think you may be, keep it to "sigs."

 

What happened to contacting the webhost and reporting misconduct?.

 

They might have the right to do that though. I dunno how this is gona turn out.

 

I think he's talking about you talking to them and reporting in privately and not making such a public scene.

 

teens running the site, what does that mean - there are a ton of awesome teen GFX designers out there. i dont get the lawsuit part .

 

I'm sure money has a lot to do with the severity of the situation.

I am pretty sure that this case, if it goes, will be thrown out. How can you prove that their work is not professional? You don't get a degree for being an professional designer.

 

well Epoch is an adult, the site is goign to be his web design business. some recent problems have seen this halted for a while but it is the aim in the end.

well funny that the 1st i hear about this(i am an admin there) is on another freaking site.

Yeah, you don't get a degree for being a 'professional' designer, but you can get a degree in web and graphic design.

 

No matter how old you are, keep to not making judgements on peoples age.
I dont appreciate being told im a 'kid' because im 16... for all you know i could be more mature than you. Basing things on age doesnt make you cool, and i suggest you rephrase that statement.

 

I dont get it, so hes sueing them because there "kids" or "teens" and becaus ethey say taht they are good at designing when they arent as good as they say? Are you serious? btw im only 15 but i dont consider myself a kid.

 

I am actually on the GFX Team of DC, and well, on the site, i haven't heard anything about this, and nor has anything else like this been discussed.

 

Fraud? wtf. Alot of design web sites sub- contract out there main design. Just because there kids it doesn't mean they can't produce proffesional designs. Now suing them is just stupid.

Basing talent over age is just stupid. I know alot of 16 year olds who do a fecking great deal better than what a 23 year old would do graphics wise.
