I have a few questions... 1.) If I were to overclock my processor, how would I do it? (Yes, I know about BIOS 2.)Can you overclock Ram?
1 up the FSB setting. if you have a store bought PC you will most likely be unable to do this. 2 yes, when you OC your proc, you OC your ram with it.
I need a bit more than that XP I need to know what the best settings are... I have a 931 MHz processor...
it reallly depends on how ur coo;in system is. try to go up to the mid 3 ghz but u might need alot of fans and a water coolin sytem
he has a 931mhz proc, likely a PIII or a thunderbird. you could probably get up to about 1.2GHZ(1200mhz) without added cooling. the guy who said 3GHZ was crazy, you'd need like liquid nitrogen for that. as for the best settings, that is hard to says. Turn the multiplier on the proc way low first and see how far your ram will go. After that make the timings on your ram really loose and see how high you can get the multiplier/FSB. Then try to see how high you can get while still keeping your timings on the ram at an acceptable level. really, you should google it.
only if you think you can OC a 900mhz PIII to 3000 mhz with water. that would be like me OCing my 2.0GHZ Athlon 64 to 6.5GHZ with water, it won't happen.
ok..... well, i dont think you can get too high of an overclock, but i think you can get something lol. whats your ram?
watch this before overclocking ur processor http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5393904704265757054
ok first buy a cheap stick of ddr400 ram. so you dont have to worry about ram. then up your multiplier by a bit.
do you think a computer that old would even support DDR? I know for a fact that Intel did not support DDR until the P4s had been out a while and AMD only started supporting it in 2000, a 900MHz proc and the moherboard it has would not be able to use it.
by the way i was kinda jokin bout overclockin into the mid 3ghz i was just seein ewut u guyys would say
hmm that means he would have sd ram 133. so put your ram down to 66mhz and then pump up that cpu multi.
