Ok, I need a new secondary hard drive, where I keep all my apps, music, movies, etc. on.

Currently I have a 40GB drive, and it's almost full.

I want at least a 250-300GB for less then $100 (USD)

    Currently I looked at these:

    WD 250GB - http://www.unityelectronics.com/product-product_id/2586 - $79 (found on pricewatch.com)

    Maxtor 250GB - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...sp?EdpNo=119620 - $99.99 - $40.00 = $59.99 (rebate)

    Maxtor 300GB - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...p?EdpNo=1517674 - $99.99

If there's any more you know of that are cheaper, let me know.

Yeah, I might get that 250Gb Maxtor. It's alot cheaper.

I haven't bought Maxtor in a long time. Last time I had a Maxtor was with a 2-3GB drive, and it literally blew up.... that was a long time ago, lol.

I'm going to wait for DeFuZioN, and then I'll probably buy the 250GB Maxtor.

Internal and External are the same thing, just that one is inside your computer, the other is in a external case. They don't make their hard drives any differently...

Yes they do, they need a USB port.

Which brings in the easyness of transfering etc...

But since those are OEM's... Don't be too supprised if they don't work. It's like buying a dell computer, taking out the hard drive and selling it on eBay, they don't always work, or work well.

Yeah, that'll be your best bet. I have a WD 160gb (Not OEM) and got it for $45. You shouldn't need to make a jump from 40gb to 300. It's not neccicary to make such a big leap, besides, if your motherboard isn't 100% up-to-date like mine (as in it's old), you need to sacrifice some space. (I had to go down to 123GB from my 160.)

tell me where they don't sell OEM's... It's all over. I do know TigerDirect is good, I bought from them several times.

Placi, I have to be right... Being a Computer Tech is my job...
