There is no good way to record without a capture card. The only other way is to record your TV with a digital video camera, but that produces low-quality video and sound.

Thats a capture card. the only way unless using a camcorder to make a poor video. Try this - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...82E16815100103R

if you have a VCR. recorde it to a video tape and then try and find a wire that will connect the video player to your pc. I know its possible but i dint know where to get the wires from

Or just be like me and use a dvd-recorder, you know the ones that you can buy from majour media stores, like the dvd-recorder/player, for your tv, simply all oyu need to do is plug the xbox into it, slap a dvd-rw in it and play hit record, simple as. :) have fun.

I also want to record myself playing Xbox but if capture card is the only way to go...I might think about it. What are some of the best capture cards?

I got a Dazzle DVC 90 it works really good. Best capture cards are Dazzles Dazzle DVC 90 and 150 are the best out of them all.

And you need xbox's advanced AV pack to record though while being able to play on your xbox *if you play on your pc theres a good 3 second delay.*
